The Ministry of Public Health has opened applications for qualified candidates seeking to represent Thailand in the race for the next director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO).
Public Health Minister Pattana Promphat said a selection committee had been established under a cabinet resolution approved on June 12 to identify Thailand's nominee for the global health agency's top post.
The committee comprises three representatives from the health ministry and three from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Applications opened on Tuesday and will close on July 17.
