A minister has warned that waiving visa requirements for Ukrainian refugees could risk Russian agents infiltrating the UK.
On a visit to Newcastle on Thursday, schools minister Robin Walker rejected calls for the government to further relax border restrictions for those escaping the war with Russia.
More than a million people have fled Ukraine since the Russian invasion a week ago and hundreds of civilians are believed to have been killed in the conflict.
