The Minister for Health has admitted that he failed to register a rental property with the Residential Tenancies Board.
Stephen Donnelly made the admission only days after his Fianna Fail party colleague Robert Troy was forced to resign from his role as a Junior Minister. Mr Troy had failed to register a number of properties he was renting out to the RTB and to the Dail register.
The south Dublin property had been registered on the Dail register of member's interests but had not been renewed on the RTB's register in 2019. The long-standing rental property had been registered in 2011 and 2015.

In a statement this evening a spokesman for Mr Donnelly said the Wicklow TD's error had been an "oversight". They said: "That tenancy was registered and renewed with the RTB on a number of occasions (2011 and 2015) and is currently registered.
“Due to an oversight, the tenancy registration was not renewed in 2019 when it should have been. The RTB indicated that this should be backdated online, which was done last week. The minister’s interests have been fully declared every year on the Dáil register of members’ interests.”
It is an offence to not register a tenancy within a month of it beginning. It can be backdated online according to the RTB.
