The ever-cozy Pokemon Pokopia offers a very wholesome blend of Animal Crossing: New Horizons vibes and Minecraft mechanics – but players are discovering that, sadly, not all in the community are as wholesome as the game they're enjoying.
Picture this: it's the early 2010s, you're just getting home from school, and you're preparing to hop on your favorite Minecraft server for some admittedly not-so-great builds. What do you see when you get in, though?
Your house-in-progress is now a house-in-shambles, thanks to griefers. We all remember them, and, unfortunately, they're still around. They're now rearing their heads in Pokopia, in fact, much to players' dismay.
As one disappointed fan reports in a recent online post, "We opened a public island for co-op building, and I suppose expectedly someone came in and wrecked it. Very sad to see the efforts of around 100 people go to waste, but we at least recorded footage prior."
Attached are images of the island they cite before and after the damage – and, yeah, it's pretty crushing to see. Thankfully, it sounds as though folks will rebuild it, at least.

"If you wish to help salvage," the poster writes, attaching access codes for the island. Replies show disheartened fellow fans, with one comment reading, "I thought we left griefers in 2012." Another person chimes in, "They really need to implement island backups or something."
A good few players offer their help in rebuilding everything, too, which is nice, but wow, does this whole situation bring back my worst Minecraft memories.
I'm just glad that something like this even exists in the first place, I suppose – especially when I consider all the calls to Nintendo for a better GameShare and multiplayer mode.
A public island like the one covered here could really be special… and, evidently, is.
