Millwall winger Jed Wallace says he was "never close" to leaving the club in the January transfer window despite Nottingham Forest's attempts to sign him.
The Reds were eager to land the in-demand Championship star and reportedly had three bids rejected for the winger who is out of contract this summer.
Forest reportedly made another attempt to sign him on a dramatic deadline day at the City Ground which saw Richie Laryea, Sam Surridge and Jonathan Panzo all join the club.
But Wallace, who was out injured at the time, told BBC Radio London that his sole interest was getting back and playing football again.
"(I was) never that close (to leaving),” he said.
"My overriding feeling in January was I wanted to get back playing football and I know when I'm playing at The Den I'm enjoying myself.
"I think my performances have shown that.
"Whether I've got 10 years or one day left on my contract I'll give my all for the club because the club has done a lot for me in the last five years."
The 27-year-old had caught the eye of Forest having impressed for the Lions and has entered the final months of his contract at The Den.
But he suffered a quad injury in December, which kept him out of action for almost two months, having recently returned earlier this month.
And Milwall boss Gary Rowett had revealed he was more focussed on returning to full-fitness than paying attention to transfer speculation.
"Jed’s the type of player that he wants to be out playing football," Rowett said. "Part of his frustration, I don’t think it was necessarily the January situation, it was that he wanted to play.
"When you’re out injured and there’s loads of speculation that’s not particularly a great place for a player to be in. You want to be playing football and showing it on the pitch."
