Millwall manager Gary Rowett hailed his side’s “incredible” comeback, as they snatched a 2-2 draw at Swansea thanks to two injury-time own goals.

The Lions were 2-0 down inside 12 minutes last night and heading for defeat before a remarkable fightback.

Harry Darling put through his own net three minutes into stoppage time and, amazingly, Nathan Wood did the same two minutes later.

“Incredible, an incredible end to the game,” said Rowett, whose side are fourth in the Championship with seven points after four games.

“I can’t forget the first half. But if you keep knocking on the door and asking questions, it’s up to the opposition to see the game out.

“We took something that probably after 30 minutes I couldn’t see us taking anything at all.”

Swansea boss Russell Martin said: “It really hurts at the moment, but you cannot throw away a 2-0 lead with four minutes to go. It’s not a fair result, we should be out of sight.

“But it’s our job to take responsibility and help the players through it. The players are devasted, as we are, that’s the overriding emotion.”
