Millwall boss Gary Rowett breaks silence on Jon Dadi Bodvarsson Bolton Wanderers transfer links

Millwall boss Gary Rowett said that no sufficient offers have come in to allow any of his players to leave the club this transfer window so far amid reports of Bolton Wanderers seeking Jon Dadi Bodvarsson on loan.

Wanderers are in the market for another striker this transfer window to add to the forward line which currently includes Dion Charles after the departure of Eoin Doyle.

Bolton have already made four brand new acquisitions this transfer window with the permanent signings of Charles and Aaron Morley, as well as the loan deals for Marlon Fossey and James Trafford.

Wanderers have also put in a second bid for a midfield player, believed to be Gillingham captain Kyle Dempsey, and are also working on bringing another striker in.

Lions striker Bodvarsson is reported to be the subject of that loan approach and has six months left to run on his contract at the Den and is not part of the first team under Rowett this campaign.

But the Lions boss Rowett says no offers for any of his players have met valuations the club.

And the London side may need to fill some gaps in their forward line after Tom Bradshaw suffered a knee injury in the defeat to Nottingham Forest over the weekend and Sheyi Ojo also came off in the loss, which could complicate any approach from Wanderers for the forward.

Lions boss Rowett told LondonNewsOnline : “Jon’s been away with the Icelandic national team in a kind of unofficial two-game tournament, which he has scored and done quite well in it.

“When I say it doesn’t affect it, there is nothing to affect it at the moment. We haven’t had anything sufficient enough to decide we want to let anyone go out the door at the moment.

“We’ll have to sit down and give that some consideration now, being light in those areas.

“We’ll see what the scans come back, if both are going to be out for a considerable period – it’s a bitter blow because we’ve got Ryan Leonard and Dan Ballard out for a while. Every time we seem to get a little bit of momentum this season, something comes up to drive us back into the ground.”
