Millions of people across the UK are to get an extra £300 cost of living payment from November. The money is in addition to the £650 being given in two payments to lower-income homes and the £400 everyone is getting in energy bill rebates.
Rishi Sunak, now prime minister, announced the extra £300 as part of the Government's response to the cost of living crisis when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer.
The money will be given to pensioners who qualify for the Winter Fuel Payment. The payment itself is worth £100 to £300 and the top-up will be an additional £150 to £300.
