Millions of illegal cigarettes seized at Dublin Port with help of detector dog Waffle

Dublin Revenue Tobacco

Revenue officers seized 9 million cigarettes at Dublin port today.

The massive sting came as a result of routine profiling. Detector dog Waffle had a part to play in the find but was helped by Revenue's mobile x-ray scanner.

The packages were branded ‘Lambert & Butler and has an estimated retail value of €6.8 million.
