A quarter of British adults could be putting their eye health and safety at risk – as they are unconcerned or unaware about the risks of UV exposure to their eyes.
Nearly three-quarters (71%) of sunglasses wearers are more concerned that their shades look good first and foremost – with safety credentials coming further down their list of priorities.
In fact, a study of 2,000 adults found that, of those who wear prescription glasses, over a third (38%) do not own sunglasses with the correct lenses their eyes require.
