Millionaire Molly-Mae back at work weeks after giving birth as she doesn't get maternity pay

Molly-Mae Hague has revealed she had to go back to work weeks after having baby Bambi - because she isn’t entitled to maternity pay.

The 23-year-old gave birth to her first child with boyfriend Tommy Fury at the end of January.

But the new mum is already back at work and recently went on her first work trip abroad, leaving the three-month-old for the first time.

Taking to her YouTube channel to give fans an update, the influencer and PrettyLittleThing creative director, revealed she was jetting off to Nice in the South of France for a fashion shoot.

She told her 1.7 million subscribers: “I’m going on my first work trip to Nice after having a baby. It’s actually quite a big moment for me.”

The Love Island star continued: “I am so excited, but it’s a little bit bittersweet because it’s going to be my first time leaving my baby.

“She’s three months old now. It’s low key making me feel kind of sick. I’m not going to lie. You know that kind of homesick feeling you’d get.”

Molly-Mae revealed the original plan was to take Bambi with her, but she decided it was “selfish” for the sake of two days.

She explained: “I reflected and realised I was probably being a little bit selfish to take a whole flight to a whole new country. Tommy wouldn’t even be there to experience her first flight or anything.

“For the sake of two nights I just thought she’s going to have to stay at home and I’m going to have to go to work.”

Despite being the creative director at PrettyLittleThing, Molly-Mae told fans she was actually self-employed.

She was also crowned Love Island’s richest ever contestant after raking in a combined fortune of around £9 million with boxer boyfriend Tommy, who is the half-brother of boxing champion Tyson Fury.

But although she appears to have money to spare, Molly-Mae shared: “At the end of the day, I am self-employed, so I have to work because there’s bills to pay.

“We’ve got a mortgage to pay, car bills to pay. I’ve got outgoings. I have to earn. I don’t get a maternity leave pay. You don’t when you’re self-employed, so I have to get back to work.”

Although she is happy to be back at work and says her shoots with PrettyLittleThing are “the best times for me”, Molly-Mae revealed she had a ‘meltdown’ on set.

She said in her vlog: "I did, in the afternoon, have a bit of a meltdown just because it was a lot to take in. That was my second day without Bambi and I think I keep forgetting that I am still only three months post-partum.

"I had not really prepared myself for how I might feel on a photoshoot. I think I had kinda not prepared myself fully for how I might feel on a photoshoot, three months after having a baby."

Molly-Mae added: "I know I keep going on about it, but my body it's just so different now and I had a baby three months ago."

In a ‘real’ moment, she told fans that “nothing fits anymore” after having Bambi, but she hadn’t had time to go shopping.

Sharing an experience from a recent shopping trip, Molly-Mae said: "Just tried everything on that I got in Zara but nothing fit. The struggle of not knowing what size to buy after you have a baba is real.”
