England women’s vice-captain Millie Bright has signed a new three-year contract with Chelsea.
Bright, who is also vice-captain for the Blues, has been at the club since 2014 and is now set to take her time in west London to over 10 years.
The centre-back is Chelsea’s longest serving women’s player and has enjoyed a stellar career at the club, winning 13 major trophies.
The 28-year-old has also established herself as a regular for England in that time and played a pivotal role as the Lionesses won Euro 2022 earlier this summer.
Bright played every minute of England’s march to glory and was unlucky not to be named in the team of the tournament.
“Chelsea, the fans, the club, the people. Thank you for all your support so far,” said Bright. “You’re my home and I can’t wait to continue fighting for more trophies.”
General manager Paul Green added: “We are absolutely delighted that Millie has signed a new contract.
“Millie remains our longest serving player and her time with us has been key to our success.
“The way that she leads on and off the pitch is second to none and we are proud of how far she has come and all her achievements, including her most recent win at the Euro’s which was a very proud moment for the club.”
