The Jammu and Kashmir police on Wednesday said they have killed a Hizb-ul-Mujahideen militant, involved in the attack on an off-duty policeman on February 1, in south Kashmir’s Shopian.
“A joint cordon and search operation of the police, the Army and the CRPF was launched in Shopian’sNadigam village following a tip-off.In the ensuing encounter, Umar Ishfaq Malik alias Musa from Shopian’s Bongam was killed. He was linked to the Hizb,” Inspector General of Police Vijay Kumar toldThe Hindu.
