Milinkovic-Savic signs, Zaniolo decision - Antonio Conte's dream £203m Tottenham transfer window

Could Tottenham make more signings before the September 1 deadline?

Spurs are set to seal a deal for Destiny Udogie after the defender underwent a medical on Monday in North London, but will be heading back to Udinese on loan for a year. And if the window was to shut now, not many could argue against ranking Fabio Paratici's and Daniel Levy's work this summer as one of the best in comparison to their Premier League competitions.

So far, Spurs have spent a total of £109million on their other new recruits. All of Richarlison, Yves Bissouma, Djed Spence, Ivan Perisic and Clement Lenglet have signed and Conte has the squad depth to challenge on all front this season as Tottenham finally look to end their trophy drought.

However, transfer activities continue on the outgoing front with Giovanni Lo Celso's Villarreal loan confirmed on Monday. Tanguy Ndombele is a player who is also looking for a new challenge and the latest indications are that a Napoli loan could be on the cards for the Frenchman.

Elsewhere, both Harry Winks and Bryan Gil are two players who could secure moves away before the deadline passes by. That would be a lot of outgoings which would reduce the squad options in midfield. Could this mean that at least one or two more midfielders could be signed to retain that high level of depth?

The Italian media continue to link Tottenham and Conte to a potential late double swoop for Lazio's Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (£38million-£51million) and Roma's Nicolo Zaniolo (£41million). The possibility of seeing both signed are seemingly low, but not completely impossible. If Paratici was to deem the 23-year-old's valuation as too steep, do not rule out the Lilywhites from making a late swoop for Man United star James Garner.

Therefore, football.london hypothetically previews just how both Milinkovic-Savic and Zaniolo would fit into Conte's current starting eleven if both were signed.

With just how well the front three have started off this 2022/23 Premier League campaign, Zaniolo would have to bide his time before he was offered an opportunity in the starting XI.

Further back though, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has arguably just outshined his teammate and midfield compatriot Rodrigo Bentancur in these first two fixtures.

Milinkovic-Savic as well as adding some defensive stability, is arguably a lot more creative and forward-thinking than the Argentinean meaning the Serb will offer my dynamism to Conte's midfield set-up. It would be good competition to see both players battle it out for a starting spot.

Tottenham fans - What do you make of this concept midfield and attack? Would Milinkovic-Savic displace Rodrigo Bentancur and would Nicolo Zaniolo have to sit on the bench for most weeks? Leave your thoughts in the comments section below!
