Miley Cyrus Opens Up About the Real Tragedy That Inspired Her 'Avatar: Fire and Ash' Song

Miley Cyrus Avatar

Miley Cyrus leaves The Carlyle Hotel before the 2025 Met Gala: "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style" at the Metropolitan Museum of Art on May 05, 2025 in New York City.

Miley Cyrus' song for Avatar: Fire and Ash could see her nominated for her first Oscar. "Dream as One", which plays over the third Avatar film's credits, is on the shortlist for Best Original Song along with 14 other contenders, so "Academy Award Winner Miley Cyrus" is a real possibility.

In a new interview with Entertainment Weekly, the singer shared that she was inspired by the loss of her Malibu home to the Woolsey wildfire in 2018.
