The biggest single of the year so far has been revealed - and it's good news for Miley Cyrus fans. The singer-songwriter's number one hit Flowers has secured the top position on the list, according to the Official Charts Company.
The organisation compiles various official record charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland and France. Its latest data shows the 30-year-old's break-up anthem has racked up a whopping 147 million streams and more than 80,000 downloads.
Supposedly written about the popstar's split with on-and-off boyfriend and former fiancé Liam Hemsworth, the track spent 10 weeks at number one earlier this year. In second place is Raye's Escapism, followed by SZA's Kill Bill in third.
The data also shows the biggest albums of the year so far, with The Weeknd's greatest hits collection 'The Highlights' taking the number one spot. In second place is Midnights by Taylor Swift - who is set to head to the UK next summer for her 2024 Eras Tour as presale tickets go up on Ticketmaster today (July 10).
While the third most popular album so far this year, according to the data, is Harry Styles' Harry's House. Taylor Swift also appears again multiple times in the Top 40 version of the list thanks to her albums 1989, Lover, Folklore, and Reputation, which come in 16th place, 19th, 23rd and 24th respectively.
The only two albums mentioned in the Top 10 list, which have been released in 2023, are Lewis Capaldi's Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent at number six and Ed Sheeran's Subtract at number eight. Others include the likes of Elton John, Eminem and Fleetwood Mac.
