'Miles clear of Fabinho' - Manchester United fans react to Brazil's loss without Casemiro

Casemiro has been one of the players of the tournament so far at the World Cup.

Having transformed Manchester United's midfielder after his move from Real Madrid, the Brazilian has continued his good form at the World Cup. Not only has he been exceptional defensively, he has also got on the scoresheet, scoring Brazil's only goal against Switzerland.

He has been named in WhoScored's team of the tournament so far alongside fellow United players Bruno Fernandes and Harry Maguire.

However, for their final group game, Casemiro was benched by Tite in a bid to keep the player fit, with Liverpool's Fabinho taking his place. The difference with and without Casemiro was clear to see.

Brazil struggled to keep control of the ball in the centre of the park and were overwhelmed by Cameroon. They eventually lost thanks to a late goal by Vincent Aboubakar, who received a second yellow card for taking his shirt off as he celebrated.

United and Brazil fans were quick to point out the difference in quality between Fabinho and Casemiro.

United fans, however, will be secretly glad that Casemiro was given a break by Brazil. The South American side have been tipped to go deep into the tournament so any rest for the midfielder will be welcomed.

Casemiro has been such a key player for United this season and if he was to suffer an injury in Qatar it would be awful news for their top-four hopes. But at the same time, he hopefully gets to play and can continue to be a key member of his side for as long as they remain in the competition.
