Mikey Johnston has departed Celtic for a European adventure on loan - and also signed a one-year contract extension that keeps him in Glasgow until 2026.
The highly-rated Hoops winger has traded the Scottish Premiership for Portugal as he pens a season-long loan deal agreement with Vitoria Guimaraes. Injuries have been a major stumbling block in the past couple of years for the 22-year-old as he bids to put that all behind him and land a consistent run of first-team football this season.
Ange Postecoglou boasts huge riches in the attacking wide areas with the likes of Liel Abada, Daizen Maeda, James Forrest and new signing Sead Hakšabanović. Game-time at Parkhead would also have been limited for the youngster. But now he will have the chance to shine in the Portuguese top flight. He is under contract at the Scottish champions until 2025. To date he has made 79 top team appearances for Celtic netting 11 goals and providing 11 assists.
