Mikel Arteta told perfect Gabriel Jesus transfer solution as Arsenal plot £139m January swoop

Mikel Arteta has been told that Gabriel Martinelli is the perfect replacement for Gabriel Jesus following the striker's injury. The 25-year-old was forced to come off during Brazil's 1-0 defeat to Cameroon in the final game of the World Cup group stages after suffering with pain in his right knee.

Following Jesus' knock, football.london learned that the Arsenal talisman was to be ruled out for three to four weeks after scans detected an injury. But, after returning to England from Qatar for further tests, it turned out that he suffered a medial collateral ligament injury and required surgery to repair the problem.

According to reports, it remains unclear as to how long Jesus will be out of action for and a return date is dependant on how quickly he recovers. With that being said, he is expected to return within three months which comes a huge consolation as Arsenal look to defend their place at the top of the Premier League.
