Arsenal's transfer business and decisions so far this summer appear to have been spot on. Mikel Arteta and Edu were tasked with reinforcing the squad after a long and tough campaign last time out.
The Gunners managed to finish fifth, just missing out on the Champions League places, but there was little time to reflect on their narrow loss. Signings have been made quickly, with five additions so far and over £100million spent on increasing quality and depth to the side for the upcoming season.
The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Fabio Vieira and Oleksandr Zinchenko have all made the switch, able to play in several positions with some ability in all of those roles. Arteta's men currently have two wins from their opening two games, making a far better start than last year where they lost all of their opening three matches.

The project being built by the Spaniard has taken some time, but appears to be taking shape towards an end product of sorts, with plenty of tough decisions being made to get to this point. The key one across this period has been to do with the playing squad and transfers.
For example, the manager could have signed players back in January that might have got them over the line into the top four, but he admitted that the options available weren't a match for the club: "We only want the best players and the best people in this club. When we are in a rush and the reasons are not right for getting a player into the club, we decide not to do it."
Another example of that was seen this summer, where the Gunners made their move for Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez. The Argentina international plays a multitude of positions, but when rivals Manchester United came in with a £56million bid, they decided it was too much and backed out.
They instead made a move for Zinchenko, in a deal worth roughly £30million. It seems as though they made the right choice so far, with Martinez struggling in his opening few games in England, the most recent being a 45 minute stint against Brentford where his struggle with physicality was on display.
It shows that the clear direction and ability to be ruthless puts the Gunners on the right path going forward.
