Mikel Arteta ‘replacement’ issues Arsenal apology as silence broken on Gunners switch rumours

Brazil head coach Tite has slammed rumours of a move to Arsenal as ‘fake news’ and sent an apology to both the Gunners and current boss Mikel Arteta. The 60-year-old has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium over recent weeks, with reports suggesting that he was being considered as a potential replacement for the Spaniard in north London.

Whether that was succession planning by Arsenal or not remains to be seen, but it appeared to be a strange move considering the excellent work that Arteta has done at the Emirates Stadium this campaign. Nevertheless, the Gunners appear to have disputed the claims with the club apparently breaking rank by stating there is ‘nothing’ in the suggestions that Tite was set for a move to north London.

Now, the Copa America winner has also rejected the suggestions in a passionate apology to the club.
