Mikel Arteta makes decision on 12 Arsenal transfers as Gunners prepare for busy summer

Arsenal face a mammoth summer ahead when it comes to both incoming and outgoing transfers. The Gunners spent £150million on six new signings last summer and football.london understands that owner Stan Kroenke will back manager Mikel Arteta with funds for new further new signings once the season ends.

Arteta wants to bring in a new forward, central midfielder and winger with several first team players set to leave Emirates Stadium once June comes around. "The Champions League and the Europa League both require a much larger squad because the amount of games is much bigger," said Arteta.

"If we can afford it financially and we don’t have to do the turnaround in the squad that we’ve had to, what I want is 22 outfield players and three goalkeepers. A lot of things have to be put in place and that takes time, so I am expecting a busy summer.”

football.london takes a look at the 12 players who are likely to depart Arsenal this summer.

Bernd Leno

Leno wanted to leave in January and was close to signing for Newcastle.

He has become second choice goalkeeper after the emergence of Aaron Ramsdale and will seek a permanent move away from the club this summer.

Mohamed Elneny

Elneny's contract expires in the summer and there has been no signal from Arsenal that they are looking to extend his deal.

The Egypt international is wanted by various European clubs including Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.

Alexandre Lacazette

The Frenchman is expected to leave Arsenal when his contract expires in the summer, although Arteta has suggested that he will attempt to persuade the striker to sign a new deal.

Eddie Nketiah

Nketiah rejected a contract extension offer from Arsenal in January and it's expected that he will leave the club when his deal expires this summer.

Alex Runarsson

Belgian side Leuven are unable to fund the fee that would make Runarsson's move there a permanent one, although talks are expected to continue once the season ends.

Hector Bellerin

Bellerin wants to extend his stay at Betis and the two clubs are looking to find an agreement ahead of next season.

William Saliba

The France defender is unsure of his current future and talks will open between his agent and Arsenal this summer.

Saliba is open to extending his stay at loan club Marseille.

Pablo Mari

Mari wants to stay in Italy and it's expected that Arsenal will grant the Spanish defender's wish.

Udinese remain keen on making the deal permanent.

Konstantinos Mavropanos

football.london understands that Mavropanos will become a Stuttgart player this summer, regardless of whether the German side get relegated from the Bundesliga. Stuttgart are currently a point from guaranteed safety with four games to go.

Lucas Torreira

Fiorentina will open talks with Arsenal at the end of the season with Torreira keen on making his move to Italy a permanent one.

Matteo Guendouzi

Guendouzi will sign for Marseille on a permanent deal this summer with the French side set to activate their buy option clause.

Reiss Nelson

Nelson has scored twice and made four assists in his last seven games for Feyenoord.

It's expected that he'll be assessed during pre-season but a summer exit certainly can't be ruled out.
