Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has claimed that striker Gabriel Jesus is "disappointed" that he was unable to score in Arsenal's draw against Southampton on Sunday. The Gunners took the lead in the clash through Granit Xhaka, who thumped a shot into the roof of the net after just 11 minutes.
While the Gunners were rampant in the first half, they were unable to extend their lead and the second half painted a very different picture. The Saints took control of the game and managed to find an equaliser as Stuart Armstrong got beyond the defensive line for a calm finish.
"No complaints," Arteta said on the result. "This is football. We were really good in the first half and totally controlled the game. We created loads of big chances that we didn't put away. In the Premier League, unfortunately, if you don't do that when you are top of the game, you can have some difficulties.

"In the second half, we put ourselves in problems with the amount of giveaways that we had, especially with ball possession, and that didn't allow us to control the game the way we wanted."
It was just a second game this campaign that the Gunners have dropped points, meaning champions Manchester City close the gap at the top to just two points. While there were a few worries, another will have been the form of Gabriel Jesus after his electric start to the season.
The Brazilian is without a goal in five games, failing to find the net against the Saints, despite offering plenty in the general play for the side. Discussing those concerns, Arteta said: "I'm sure today he will be disappointed because he had the chances to put them away.
"Knowing Gabi, he's disappointed when he scores two goals and could have scored three or four, so he can do that. But he has the chances, and he's always there. He gives so much to the team, and it's a shame he couldn't put them away today."
With the Brazilian's recent struggles in front of goal, there will be hopes for the club that he can find his shooting boots again, while he will also be hoping to find plenty more goals to fire his way into the Brazil World Cup squad next month.
