Arsenal defender Oleksandr Zinchenko is expected to be back playing before the Premier League breaks for the World Cup.
Zinchenko has been out of action since the start of October after picking up a calf injury and he has not played since the derby win over Tottenham.
The left-back once again missed training on Wednesday afternoon and he isn’t expected to play against PSV Eindhoven on Thursday.
But asked if he thinks Zinchenko will play before the World Cup, Arteta said: “Yes. He had a recurring injury in his calf. That’s why he’s been out for this period.”
In Arteta’s absence he has used both Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu at left-back.
Tomiyasu has featured there in the last two Premier League games, while Tierney has started there in all of Arsenal’s Europa League matches. The Scot is expected to do so again when the Gunners take on PSV this Thursday.
