Aaron Ramsdale has signed a brand new contract at Arsenal. The extension takes the England international through to 2026 with an option to extend for a further year football.london understands as a reward for yet another brilliant season with the club.
Ramsdale joined as part of a new-look Arsenal squad in 2021 when sporting Director Edu Gaspar brought in a host of players of or under the age of 23. The Brazilian told the Arsenal website of his delight and excitement for the future with him.
“It’s great that we’ve agreed and completed a new contract with Aaron. We have enjoyed so many positive moments from Aaron’s performances in his two years with us, and are looking forward to many more," he said.

"We must also remember that Aaron is still very young, so there is still a lot more to come from him, as we continue to build with our young foundations.”
Mikel Arteta, meanwhile, made sure to highlight the success that the contract represented for the club. The Gunners have secured the future of Gabriel Magalhães this season and football.london understands that Bukayo Saka is also set to sign a new contract with the team.
“We’re all so happy that Aaron has signed a new contract. The way Aaron has developed over the past two years has been exceptional, with his performances, contribution and overall adaptation to the club," said Arteta.
"It’s great that we’re continuing to build our future with our biggest talents in our young squad. We’re all looking forward to enjoying many more years of Aaron the player and the person at the football club.”
What is interesting about Arteta’s words is that he hints toward the future. Whilst, as discussed, Saka might be set to sign the future of William Saliba remains undetermined but the club remain confident that the Frenchman will sign.
After a season of fighting for a title and Champions League football returning to the club, Saliba has plenty of reason to remain at the Emirates Stadium. However, with only a year remaining on his deal, after Arsenal activated the extension in the original contract he signed back in 2019, there remains an anxious wait for the defender to indeed renew.
