Mike Tyson Wants Tyson Fury Showdown After He Beats Jake Paul

Boxing legend and heavyweight icon Mike Tyson is ready to call out Tyson Fury, should be be successful in his comeback fight against Jake Paul this weekend.

Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson headlines at the AT&T Stadium in Texas on Friday night, and should he win, ‘Iron Mike’ says he wants to get in the ring with ‘The Gypsy King’ next.

Mike Tyson Wants Tyson Fury Fight After He KO’s Jake Paul

The former undisputed world heavyweight king Mike Tyson returns to competitive boxing action this weekend at 58-years-old. The fearsome heavyweight is set to face Jake Paul in an eight round contest at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas on Friday night.

The bout is headlining this bumper card, live and available worldwide via Netflix. The event also includes a Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano rematch, which is the pick of the action on the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson undercard.

This is Tyson’s first fight in the professional ring since 2005, when he was beaten by Kevin McBride. ‘Iron Mike’ hasn’t won a professional fight since 2003 when he beat Clifford Etienne in one round of their heavyweight bout.

He did of course have that exhibition fight with fellow boxing legend Roy Jones Jr back in November 2020, but this is a totally different challenge against Jake Paul, who is 31 years younger than Tyson.

However, Tyson is fully confident of knocking ‘The Problem Child’ out in emphatic fashion this weekend. If he does, the former heavyweight king hasn’t ruled out the potential of continuing his comeback, and even challenging the likes of Tyson Fury in the future.

Although many boxing fans feel this could be a one off for ‘Iron Mike’, Tyson himself isn’t ruling out a fight with ‘The Gypsy King’ in the future: “Nothing will be excluded after I knock out Jake Paul,” Tyson told Mail Online.

The former fearsome knockout artist added: “Listen. I’m taking this one fight, one person at a time. But if this one goes as well as I expect, then a full comeback is not off the table.”

Mike Tyson vs Tyson Fury Has Been Talked About Before, And Could Be Once Again

With Mike Tyson confirming that he isn’t closing any potential avenues down going forward, including a fight with Tyson Fury, this has sparked debate amongst the boxing world.

Should ‘Iron Mike’ defeat Jake Paul this weekend, despite being an underdog with the best boxing betting sites in the UK, then the Tyson Fury fight could genuinely happen going forward. Especially if Fury were to lose his rematch with Oleksandr Usyk on December 21st on His Excellency Turki Alalshikh‘s Riyadh Season show.

The battle of the Tyson’s fight has been mentioned before in the same breath. Five years or so ago, Fury claimed in an interview that Mike Tyson asked for a $500 million payday for an exhibition with ‘The Gypsy King’.

“His people contacted me. Mike and I had a phone call. It was all real but never materialised. Mike was talking about $500 million figures, but what came back to us on paper was a joke. It was crazy.

“I would have loved to share the ring with him and move around. But if he had won, then people would have said I was rubbish because a 53-year-old beat me. If I had beaten him, then I would have been a bully. It was a lose-lose situation for me,” said Fury in an old interview with iFLTV.

Time will tell whether Mike Tyson does indeed fight Tyson Fury in the future. However, he first must defeat Jake Paul on Friday night in their heavyweight showdown at the AT&T Stadium.
