Mike Tyson shares video call with Derek Chisora who sports nasty eye injury

Legendary former world heavyweight champion Mike Tyson gave Derek Chisora a FaceTime call to console him in the aftermath of his loss to Tyson Fury earlier this month.

Chisora finally got his shot at the famous WBC heavyweight belt on December 3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, when he faced Fury for the third time. However, the result was ultimately more one-sided than their previous two bouts and Fury landed a stoppage in the 10th round.

The Londoner has, though, taken the result in his stride and insisted that he won't be retiring from the sport after his shot at the title. He shared a recent post on his Instagram story showing a brief piece of a video call between he and 'Iron Mike' a few days after his loss to Fury.

It can't be heard what Tyson is saying to his fellow heavyweight, but he appears to be encouraging Chisora, who is joined by a pal in the bottom corner of the picture and sporting an eye injury. The former world champion is still a big fan of the sport and is known to attend major title fights in America.

Chisora started aggressively against Fury, sticking to his end of a pre-fight deal where they had agreed to meet in the middle of the ring at the first bell. He forced the champion to use his bigger frame with body work early, but was unable to maintain the pace or keep up with arguably the greatest heavyweight in the world.

By around the sixth, people at home and in the arena were beginning to feel that Chisora could be pulled from the fight, but he braved through until round 10. At that point, referee Victory Loughlin gave him a warning in his corner to show something, before calling the fight off as Fury continued to land at will.

Chisora has vowed to stick around in boxing, although it remains to be seen what he will do next from a fighting perspective. Discussing retirement, he told Seconds Out after the fight: "No not yet, not yet. F*** that s***. I'm going to take time out, chill, relax and see how I feel I'm not going out like this. I want to go on the road now for more fights. We will see I don't know yet. I enjoyed it."
