The Ferrari F50 Mike Tyson drove during his days as a heavyweight champion has sold for a staggering $4.2million at auction.
The supercar is the 73rd of only 349 F50s ever built and one of just 55 available in the US market according to the auction house Gooding and Company. It's 4.7-litre engine produces 513 horsepower at 8,500 rpm, with the car able to go from 0 to 60 mph in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 202 mph. The supercar was worth around $650,000 at the time Tyson purchased it, with the former boxer also buying a Ferrari 456 GT Spyder at the same time.
'Iron Mike' was the second owner of this particular F50, acquiring it from broker Nadir Amirvand in 1996. It has 6,200 miles on the clock and was fixed up for £70,000 worth of renovations at a Ferrari dealership in Florida earlier this year. The supercar's newest owner is the eighth person to drive it. In the year Tyson bought the car, he defended his heavyweight world title by knocking out Frank Bruno and Bruce Seldon before losing the belt to Evander Holyfield.

Tyson owned many luxury cars during his days as one of the most popular boxers in the world, including several Lamborghinis Ferraris and Bentleys. The heavyweight legend said his "favourite arrest" came from when he was driving one of his Ferraris, taking the supercar through the window of a convenient store after not being able to handle the speed of it.
"My favourite arrest is when I bought a Ferrari, and I didn't know how to drive a Ferrari. “It was idling and it just went through the window,” Tyson told The Diego Show in 2016. “My car went through the glass window and I had to get arrested because of property damage. It was pretty good."
'Iron Mike' had one of the most high-profile careers in boxing and still holds the record for being the youngest undisputed heavyweight champion in history. Tyson retired in 2005 after losing to Kevin McBride, but has since made a return to the ring in exhibition format sharing the ring with Roy Jones Jr in 2020. The ring legend recently was spotted using a wheelchair at an airport as he continued to struggle with a back injury.
