Mike Tyson prices himself out of boxing comeback after Jake Paul denial

Mike Tyson has claimed it would take an offer of $1billion to entice him back into the boxing ring after dismissing suggestions he agreed to face Jake Paul.

The legendary heavyweight made a comeback to the ring against Roy Jones Jr in 2020, 15 years after he retired. Reports later indicated that he had agreed to face Paul in an exhibition clash in Las Vegas.

However Tyson has since insisted he has no knowledge of any deal and admitted it would be "expensive" if fans want him to return to the ring. "Nobody told me that," Tyson said on his podcast. "Hey, I ain't got no f***ing money. So where's the f***ing contract. I ain't know nothing about it.

"I was with him in St Barts not too long ago partying and he never told me this. I've never heard this from nobody, I've just heard this from you guys. We got to get some more man s***, blue-eyed, blonde hair, that s*** is very expensive, we need to get some more money, man. A billion bucks.”

Tyson previously announced that he was back in training with a view to making a ring return in February this year. However any return failed to materialise with Tyson making a U-turn and suggesting his fight against Jones Jr may have been his last.

Reports later indicated that he had agreed to face Paul but both men later dismissed the idea. Paul broke on to the professional boxing scene after appearing on the undercard of his clash with Jones Jr against basketball player Nate Robinson.

Tyson has expressed his admiration of Paul alongside his brother Logan as the pair continue to make a name for themselves in the Iron Square. However he has since admitted that any fight against the famed siblings would have taken place two years ago - but not now.

“It was all word of mouth and stuff, I don’t know," Tyson said on an episode of the FULL SEND podcast. “I’m not even interested in doing this stuff. It’s fun. If it was back when I first started, yes, and we were both fighting on the same card, we were both active, yeah I would do it. But it’s just turned out bad, it’s not going to turn out right.

"Every 12 or 13 months there is something missing like boom I'm losing muscle mass. I wanted to do it the first time just for fun, other people took it to the financial level and I didn't enjoy it anymore."

Tyson's previous bout with Jones Jr was seen as a huge success when staged by Triller and he then planned to stage an exhibition with former two-time rival Evander Holyfield. However an offer never materialised with Holyfield also stepping away from the ring permanently after being brutally stopped in a comeback against Vitor Belfort.
