NFL media was quick to crown Kenny Pickett the Week 17 starter, even before the Bengals game, but Mike Tomlin is in wait-and-see mode.
“We’re in the same position with Kenny [Pickett] as we were last week,” Tomlin said in his press conference today. “We’ll give him a few reps and see where that leads us.”
“We have the same mentality as we start this week. We have a great deal of more comfort because of what we’ve seen in-stadium for Mason Rudolph and that helps us.
Rudolph will take first-team reps to start the week while they keep their eye on Pickett who’s recovering from ankle surgery.
Tomlin said they’ll plan day-by-day based on what he sees in practice.
