Authorities identify woman found fatally shot in Near West Side home

A woman was found shot several times inside a Near West Side home. She was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital.

A 42-year-old woman was found fatally shot inside a Near West Side home early Sunday, Chicago police said.

Officers discovered her inside the home in the 2100 block of West Jackson Boulevard around 12:05 a.m., police said. She was shot several times and was taken to Stroger Hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

The Cook County medical examiner's office identified her Monday as Crystal Salter.

No one has been arrested, police said.
