DURHAM, N.C. — In March 1980, in his introductory press conference as the men’s basketball head coach at Duke, a 33-year-old Mike Krzyzewski was asked by a reporter to confirm the spelling of his last name.
He obliged at the time.
And he’d famously never have to do that again.
