More than 175 members of staff have come forward for the review investigating maternity failings at Nottingham's hospitals. Donna Ockenden, who is chairing the inquiry, said the review team were "so pleased" with the response but it only included a fraction of those working around maternity departments.
The expert midwife, who chaired a similar inquiry that uncovered failings leading to 201 baby deaths in Shrewsbury and Telford, launched the review into Nottingham University Hospitals (NUH) on September 1. Ms Ockenden issued an appeal for staff - past and present - on October 13 to contact the review as part of Staff Voices initiative.
She said workers were "crucially important" to the review. More than 100 staff have come forward since, adding to the 700-plus families who have reached out. "We are so please with this response," Ms Ockenden said.

"However, we do need more, as this number is a fraction of those working in and around maternity provision at the Trust. If you are a member of staff who wants to talk to us, please come forward and be assured that your confidentiality will be respected, your voices are so important to us.
"Please do not miss this opportunity to share with the review team your experiences with working in and around maternity services in NUH." Chief nurse at NUH, Michelle Rhodes, said: "We are deeply sorry for the unimaginable distress that has been caused due to failings in our maternity services.
"We know that an apology will never be enough and we owe it to those who have been failed, those we're caring for today and to our staff to deliver a better maternity service for our communities."
