Midwest Poultry Services Recalls Nearly 1.6 Million Dozen Shell Eggs Sold at Kroger and Brookshire’s for Possible Salmonella Contamination

Midwest Poultry Services, L.P. is voluntarily recalling approximately 1,589,577 dozen shell eggs because they may be contaminated with Salmonella Enteritidis, according to a recall announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on July 22. The recall includes both white shell eggs and brown cage-free eggs produced at company farms in Texas and distributed between June 6 and July 3, 2026. Affected products were sold to foodservice customers and retailers in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, including Kroger stores in Texas and Louisiana and Brookshire Grocery locations across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Mississippi. At this time, no illnesses have been linked to the recalled eggs.
