Midlothian ramblers get fright as three-legged robot screams at them during walk

Two men were startled after three-legged robots started "shouting" at them in Midlothian.

Taking to TikTok under the handle Blairo2021, two men can be seen in Woodburn in Dalkeith walking up to Police Armadillo before they raise the alarm.

Armadillo security is designed to deter intruders, the machines are programmed when they sense motion to say: "Security! Warning your presence has been detected. The owner and police have been informed." They also take a photograph or video of the 'trespasser'.

The man looks baffled as he walks up to the robot that is shouting that its aware of his presence and "owner has been informed".

Posting the video also on YouTube, the man wrote: "Just out and about exploring Woodlands in Dalkeith Area and these Armadillos went off, wasn’t breaking any laws or anything just out having fun and causing no harm - there are just robots that shout at you."

The security bots have been placed around a building that has boarded-up windows.

One said on the video: "Why does it sound Irish?", noting the strong Northern Irish accent that came from the machine.
