A local family's holiday to Tenerife turned into a 'horror show' after a grandmother slipped and fell while unpacking, fracturing her shoulder and spine.
Debbie Drysdale, from Mayfield in Midlothian, had only just flown out to the Spanish Canary Island on April 7 with her mum May and six-year-old daughter Katie when the incident occurred. After breezing past security at the airport, the trio boarded the Jet2 flight and couldn't wait to kick back and relax in the sun.
With the holiday booked as a celebration after Debbie's mum overcame breast cancer and two major operations, the week's getaway was thrown into turmoil when the trio arrived at the all-inclusive resort and started unpacking.
