Midlothian burglar 'on bike' hunted after early-morning cash raid

Police in Midlothian are appealing to the public following a break-in and theft.

Officers were called to Penicuik Road in Roslin following the incident which occurred around 4:45am on Wednesday, July 20, at a property.

A three-figure sum of cash was stolen from the address.

The suspect is described as a male, wearing blue shorts and a grey t-shirt. It is believed that he may have fled the scene on a bicycle.

Police urge motorists with dash-cam footage, locals who noticed 'suspicious' activity in the area or those who recognise the man's description to come forward.

Detective Constable Ryan Russell said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or observed a man matching the description to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone in the area to check any dashcam footage or private CCTV and contact us if they believe they can assist.”

Anyone with any information is asked to contact 101 quoting incident 0522 of July 20, 2022.
