Nicolas Raskin has been left with a case of what could have been after turning down Champions League football in hope of playing for Rangers.
It was reported recently that the 21-year-old Belgian midfielder was a target for the Light Blues as the clock ticks down to the September 1st transfer deadline day. Reports from abroad claimed this week though that Rangers were not going to be adding him to his squad as part of their squad revamp for taking part in Europe's elite group stages.
According to Voetbal, it's a call that will leave Raskin gutted. It is claimed he turned down an offer from Club Brugge in the hope of signing for Giovanni van Bronckhorst. But 'that transfer is not forthcoming.' They too are in the Champions League this season but instead it looks like the the Belgian youth international will remain playing domestic football with Ronny Deila's side.

Standard Liege's boss had said recently he was needing to make up his mind on what comes next with his future.
Deila said of the reported Rangers target: “At the moment, Nicolas is thinking a lot about his future. He’s a boy who has charisma and personality.
"But his situation is complicated for him and for us, given the expiry of his contract in June 2023. He needs to make a decision about his future and we need that too.”
