Bristol City's transfer business may have yet to take off with just seven days of the window remaining but that's not to say it could liven up quickly between now and January 31.
Antoine Semenyo's future will continue to rumble on although the closer to the deadline it gets, the less likely a deal will be concluded because it gives little time for Nigel Pearson and the recruitment team to bring in a replacement.
Bournemouth had two offers turned down last week with Burnley also seeing a bid rejected earlier in the month. There are other players who could also leave with the most notable names being Timm Klose, Chris Martin and goalkeeper Dan Bentley.
Bentley is out of contract at the end of the season and Pearson refused to rule out his departure this month should they be able to source a replacement. Bristol Live understands Wolves have shown interest while Stoke also have identified him as a potential target among other options.
Transfer speculation across the Championship is braced to intensify over the next week and we've taken a look at the rumours across the league.
Middlesbrough to raid Rotherham
Michael Carrick is looking to keep Middlesbrough's play-off chances alive and will look towards Rotherham pair Dan Barlaser and Chiedozie Ogbene before the end of the window, according to the Northern Echo.
They write Barlaser remains a top target despite already having an offer rejected with Carrick keen to bolster their midfield numbers. Winger Ogbene has been linked with moves to Millwall and Swansea with Rotherham prepared to accept £2million for a player who has entered the final six months of his contract.
Boro currently sit sixth in the Championship with just five points separating Watford in third and Swansea in 12th. The departures would prove a significant blow for Rotherham who remain locked in a relegation battle in 20th.
Nathan Jones eyes reunion
Southampton manager Nathan Jones is reportedly keen to sign a right-back in the January transfer window following the injury to Tino Livramento.
Reported by Sky Sports in their Transfer Centre, a list of options on the shortlist include Luton's James Bree. The 25-year-old was a mainstay in the first-team both in this current campaign and last season while Jones was in the dugout at Kenilworth Road.
Tottenham's outcast Djed Spence is also a potential option on loan having made just four very brief cameos from the substitute bench. Southampton are also keen on signing a striker during the window after missing out on signing Danny Ings.
Rotherham close on Norwich forward
Reports from Football Insider claim striker Jordan Hugill is set to leave Norwich imminently and join Rotherham. The 30-year-old will undergo a medical ahead of a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Millers.
Hugill was free to leave the Canaries this month after falling down the pecking order. He made just seven appearances in the league this season and failed to make a start with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Reading and Birmingham City had also been linked but Rotherham appear to have won the chase. Rotherham manager Matt Taylor was keen to bolster his firepower to help stave off fears of relegation.
Coventry want Burnley outcast
Coventry have reportedly won the race to sign Burnley central defender Luke McNally on a loan deal until the end of the season. The former Oxford man has only featured twice in the Championship following his summer move under Vincent Kompany.
Football Insider write Hull City and Sheffield Wednesday were also looking towards the 23-year-old but Mark Robins, who has been targetting a defender during the window, has beaten the competition.
The Sky Blues have won just one of their last nine in all competitions including the FA Cup defeat to Wrexham.
Leeds looking at midfield talent
They've been linked with a move for Alex Scott previously, but Bristol City fans can breathe a sigh of relief for now. According to the Daily Mail, Leeds have an interest in signing Biirmingham City talent George Hall.
Just 18 years old, Hall is another talented prospect to emerge from the club's academy hoping to follow in the footsteps of Jude Bellingham and Demarai Gray. The teenager has been an important player for John Eustace this season with 18 Championship appearances and his team-mate Troy Deeney revealed how he expects him to rise to the very top.
Meanwhile, Leeds striker Joel Gelhardt is still yet to leave on loan despite seemingly being close with a return to Wigan. Sunderland, Coventry and Stoke are just three other clubs reportedly looking at the 20-year-old.
