Middlesbrough man Toyosi Olusanya is a Buddie

Saint Mirren have made their fourth summer signing after snapping up Toyosi Olusanya on a two-year deal from Middlesbrough.

Toyosi Olusanya, from from Lambeth, South London, is the Buddies' most recent recruit after signing from Middlesbrough on two-year deal.

The 24-year-old, who can play anywhere along the front three positions, was at Middlesbrough last season and he managed only three appearances for Boro.

The St Mirren boss said: “Toyosi is someone I’ve watched for a while and I’m delighted to have him here on a permanent contract. He can play anywhere along the front three, is strong, lightning quick and gives us that option to put the ball in behind.”

The Northern Irishman continued: “I believe we have gained a real asset and he’ll add the the competition at the top end of the park.

"We’ve brought athleticism into the team with two forward signings, which compliments what we already have here.”

Toyosi says the manager was a huge factor in him coming to Paisley as he “sold the place” to him.

“It feels great and I'm happy to have things done early. The manager has really sold this place to me and I’ve met some of the staff already and everyone seems lovely, so I can’t wait to get started”

The journey for the player has been incredible. He was playing non-league football until former Middlesbrough manager Neil Warnock brought him to the club. Over the course of his time at the Riverside Stadium he made three appearances for the first team and six appearances for the club's under-23s.

In a post on the Club’s official twitter, Olusanya told Saints' fans saying that he is glad to be at the club and is looking forward to playing in front of them.
