Microsoft's recent decision to establish an AI hub in London is a strategic move in the ongoing competition for AI talent among tech giants. This move reflects the intense battle for top researchers and engineers within the industry, with companies vying to attract skilled professionals from their competitors.

Last month, Microsoft made headlines by appointing a key figure from Google DeepMind, Mustafa Suleyman, to lead a new team focused on consumer AI initiatives, including the development of the Copilot chatbot. Suleyman's recruitment also brought in Karén Simonyan, his cofounder at Inflection AI, along with other team members.
