Microsoft kills mandatory MSA Edge sign‑in after years of complaints, and Google login support will arrive in July

For the longest time, signing into Microsoft Edge has been tied exclusively to a Microsoft account. In practice, that meant logging into the Chromium-based browser with a Google account was virtually impossible. Well, until now.

A new Microsoft roadmap entry (ID 565860) reveals that the company is preparing to let users sign into Microsoft Edge with a Google account (via Neowin).
