Micro review: 'Never Never' by Colleen Hoover and Tarryn Fisher

Highlights

Almost a decade ago, BookTok star and popular author Colleen Hoover came up with the idea of a teenage girl, who forgets her memory one fine day. Hoover revealed recently how she told this idea to her author friend Tarryn Fisher, and how together the two unintentionally ended up writing the story which was later published as a three-part novella. Now, the romantic thriller titled 'Never Never' was re-released as a novel in February 2023 and it has topped the bestseller chart already.

'Never Never' is a story of two lovers, who suddenly become strangers and try to figure out why and how this happened. The story follows a teenage girl named Charlie Wynwood, and her boyfriend Silas Nash. The childhood friends turned lovers since they were 14-years-old. However, one fine day they loose memory and become strangers-- just like that... Charlie and Silas try to understand what happened to them and why, and the kind of couple they were. But the more they learn about their past, the more they end up questioning how that even happened. "Forgetting is terrifying, but remembering may be worse," reads the book's blurb.

This is a gripping, romantic mystery that will make you think about the power of soul-mates and memories. While the story centers on two teenage-lovers, it can also be read by people of most ages groups. CoHo lovers would certainly like to add this book to their reading list.

How critics view the book:

My Weekly called it a "Compelling page-turner from a great writing duo".

Sunday Post said, "A tortuous romance mystery that will keep you guessing".
