Micky van de Ven opens up on Liverpool 'dream' as Anfield picture explained

Liverpool-linked defender Micky van de Ven has previously revealed that it would be a dream to play at Anfield.

The Wolfsburg centre-back has been touted for a move to Merseyside following the arrival of sporting director Jorg Schmadtke. The legendary German goalkeeper is currently in his first days at the helm at the AXA Training Centre and immediately it has brought speculation surrounding the 22-year-old defender who he signed from Volendam. - during his time at the Volkswagen Arena

Following the murmurs surrounding the Holland youngster, old images emerged of Van de Ven at Anfield with his father from a few years back watching a match. Jurgen Klopp has already discussed the transfer prospects this summer, noting that they are looking across the pitch - apart from goalkeeper - to sign reinforcements.

Speaking in January, 22-year-old Van de Ven described the Premier League as the best division in the world. He said: "If you ask someone: what is the best league in the world? Then you will most likely get England as an answer.

"Many of the best players play in the Premier League. I can well imagine playing in the Premier League at some point."

Van de Ven was called up to the Netherlands preliminary squad for their World Cup in Qatar in November. During this camp, he would've been shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the Liverpool stars including Virgil van Dijk.

He would've lined-up alongside eventual Reds talisman Cody Gakpo - who completed his move to Anfield in January, a matter of weeks after his goalscoring exploits in the Middle East.

During the chat with Wolfsburger Allgemeine Aller-Zeitung, Van de Ven revealed the "goosebumps moment" when he heard 'You'll Never Walk Alone' play during his trip to Anfield.

"I once went to the Liverpool stadium with my dad," he revealed. "That was over Christmas on Boxing Day. Liverpool vs Arsenal. That was madness.

"Then when 'You'll Never Walk Alone' comes [on] - that's a goosebump moment, that was very cool. It's a dream to play there."
