Parkin on the fight's key moment
“I thought I would more likely get a finish on the floor. I felt I was a lot better grappler than him. I thought I was catching with good, clean shots and then obviously kept standing and got the finish.”
Parkin on putting his career in his coach's hands
“I literally just take it as it comes. I know it’s a fast track. It definitely is. I’ll take my time, and the next fight will be top 15. I’m happy with where I’m going. Let my coach decide all that. If he feels like that’s the right thing, that’s the right thing. I’m still making lots of mistakes. I’m still getting better, so I’ll just keep cracking and see what the UFC offer. I’m happy for anything.”
Parkin on what he wants next
“I haven’t been paying attention (to the rest of the division). I got this fight, the name, I just focused on that. I’ll have to look and think about it. But I’m happy. The UFC’s been good. I think the fights have been very fair and good matchups, so about what they want and like, let’s just say that probably November time would be good. I like to have like a little week to chill out and I’ll be back training … I’m constantly in fight camp. There’s no time to rest.”
