Jiri Prochazka failed in his bid to reclaim the light heavyweight title Saturday when he was stopped by Alex Pereira in their UFC 303 main event rematch.
After protesting the stoppage in their first fight in November, there was no doubt for Prochazka (30-5-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) this time around. He was dropped and stopped by Pereira (11-2 MMA, 8-1 UFC) in the second round at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, and he’s now in a tough spot going forward.
History has shown that when a top-ranked contender like Prochazka is 0-2 against a sitting champion, as he now is with Pereira, it’s tough road forward.
