Mick Lynch urges UK Government to follow Scotland's lead on rail workers' pay dispute

RMT general secretary Mick Lynch has urged the UK Government to follow Scotland’s lead on settling a dispute over rail workers’ pay and conditions.

Lynch has written to the Prime Minister detailing his concerns over the row, saying “there is no reason” why the UK Government can’t find a resolution similar to how the Scottish and Welsh governments have.

Members of the Rail, Maritime and Transport union (RMT) are due to stage two 48-hour strikes next week following months of industrial action over the deadlocked row.
