Tom Izzo hit a homerun in the 2023 recruiting class, landing one of the best classes in the nation and one of the best classes in his tenure at Michigan State. The 2023 recruiting class was jumpstarted last January when Izzo secured the first piece of the class, point guard Jeremy Fears.
Fears, a point guard from Joilet, Illinois, is built like a Tom Izzo point guard, and possesses the tenacity and swag that Izzo looks for in his point guards.
Throughout the cycle, Fears was always rated as a high 4-star prospect, but after countless good performances with Team USA, and his current high school season, the point guard saw himself get a bump in the rankings.
The bump in the rankings officially gives Fears his 5th star on the 247Sports Composite Rankings, ranking him as the No. 24 overall player and the No. 5 point guard in the recruiting class.
Fears joins Xavier Booker as the two 5-stars in the recruiting class.
MSU PG signee Jeremy Fears has been moved up to a 5 🌟 on the 247 Composite. MSU now has 2 five stars and 2 four stars in their historic 2023 class.💚💯 pic.twitter.com/q1aXpJbuGq
