Michigan State basketball at Nebraska: Stream, broadcast info, three things to watch, prediction

Michigan State basketball heads to Nebraska in an important Big Ten matchup on Tuesday, and if you’re wondering how you can watch the action live, you’ve come to the right place.

Michigan State is looking to rebound from a deflating loss at Iowa over the weekend. The Spartans had the game in hand before Iowa overcame a double-digit deficit in the final minute.

Michigan State is 17-11 overall and 9-8 in Big Ten play on the year.

Nebraska has been extremely hot as of late with four straight wins and victories in five of their last six games. The Cornhuskers have given themselves an outside chance at reaching the NCAA Tournament with their strong play as of late, but will need a win over the Spartans to continue that dream.

Nebraska is 15-14 overall and 8-10 in Big Ten play this year.

Three Things to Watch

Here are three things to watch out for in this matchup between Michigan State and Nebraska:

How do the Spartans respond to Saturday’s loss: It doesn’t get much worse than what the Spartans endured on Saturday afternoon in Iowa City. A blown double-digit lead in the final minute is historic and something that can stick with a team mentally. How the Spartans respond to that loss in the first few minutes of the game will tell us a lot about how things will play out on Tuesday.

Continuing to shoot well from outside: Does water find its level for the Spartans and their outside shooting on Tuesday night? Michigan State has hit 21 of their last 36 three-point attempts for an astonishing 58 percent from outside. That simply can’t continue and if the Spartans have a cold shooting night at Nebraska then there’s a good chance they’ll leave with a loss.

Eliminating home-court advantage: When the Cornhuskers are playing well, they have one of the best home court advantages in the Big Ten. Nebraska has won four straight home Big Ten games, and will have a good chance to make it five if they keep the crowd into the game. Michigan State will need to avoid giving up big runs to reduce the crowd’s impact on the game.

Game Prediction

Prediction: MSU 76, Nebraska 69

This game scares me because of how well Nebraska has played as of late — especially at home. But the Spartans are the better team and I’m expecting them to come out plenty motivated to forget Saturday’s blown game at Iowa and earn an NCAA Tournament berth-clinching victory. It’ll be close until the final minutes before Michigan State pulls away for the win.
