Players to Watch
Here are three players to watch for Michigan State in this matchup against the Wolverines:
Jalen Berger (RB): Historically, whoever wins the rushing battle in this game will come out with the victory. So Michigan State is going to need a strong performance from its rushing attack — which I’m projecting to be led by Berger this week.
Jacob Slade (DT): The other side of winning the rushing battle is having your defense play well enough and get some key stops on the ground. So the entire front seven is going to need to be on their best against one of the nation’s top rushing attacks. I’ll call out Slade as a key performer here but it’ll be a team effort if Michigan State is able to slow down the Wolverines’ impressive ground game.
Bryce Baringer (P): For a second straight game, I’m including Baringer on my key players to watch. He is a weapon in flipping the field position and if Michigan State is going to have a chance in this game they’ll need to not give the Wolverines’ short fields and easy drives for points.
